Does mate need new wireless receiver?

I have a netgear WG111 usb stick to pick up the net (SkyBB). I get excellent signal but am nearer the router than him. We all live in a downstairs flat but his signal keeps on dropping out.

He uses a card with an antenna out at the moment, not sure what make?

Would he be better off with a USB stick like me?

No, my connection works perfect, so dont really want to break it (apart from it seems Sky has limited it to 10mb so far instead of 20)
