Does Mixing Brands Of RAM Diminish Performance Or Stability?

Hi all,
I currently have 2*4GB sticks of Crucial Ballistix Sport 1.5V @ 1600Mhz CL9 at 9-9-9-24 timings (stock). It's this RAM if you need more info.

Basically, I have 2 more slots on my motherboard and some money spare to upgrade to 16GB of RAM (I do allot of photo, audio, and video editing and use RAM-discs, and allot of multitasking so I think it's justifiable).

I know the best option is to get the exact same RAM I already have, but it's gone up in price allot since I bought it and is over £50 for 8GB on NO COMPETITORS!!!

I found some RAM that is over a tenner cheaper which has the same timings, clock, voltage, size, and cache latency as my current RAM. Only apparent difference to me is price and brand.

Will using the cheaper RAM diminish my performance or stability in any way at all? Or will it have any other negative effects?

Thanks,
Luke

The cheaper option may well work. But it does depend on the sub timings as well as primary if they match too. One set may like tighter than the other or vice versa effecting overall stability.

For the sake of a tenner just get the matching set man. Save yourself the headache of possible RMA etc.

Thanks man, I'll do that :)
