Does mobo go well with a Phenom II?

Will this motherboard go well with a Phenom II 940 straight from the box without a BIOS flash?

Or would it be a better option for me to get an Intel Q9550?

asus website seems to point to support straight out of the box, but it does show a specific bios level needed, so bios update might be needed if it arrives with an older bios loaded.

i'd stick with the 940 from what i've seen around.

Its one of the best am2+ boards for phenom IIs

as for the 940 vs 9550 there pretty equal in general
