Hi all,

How do I know if my car has a DPF?

It's 2010 Fiesta 1.4 TDCi (68 bhp model)

Thanks

I believe DPF on Ford cars built from March 2010 you'll need to check build date not registration date. Your local Ford dealer could confirm given chassis number.

Andi.

Yes. All Diesel cars from or around 2006 have one!

My November 2008 civic doesn't have a DPF, I think the rule of thumb is if the car model was introduced after 2006 then its likely to have a DPF but not guaranteed. Similar to DRL being mandatory on new models introduced after 2011.

DPF versions of cars tend to have exhausts that do not point down at the end.

Again not always, my civic has exhausts that exit horizontally through the rear bumper. The only sure fire way is to ask the dealer if they can pull it up on the build order.

The Civic has a pseudo exhaust section at the back on the diesel. It is there for looks. Look under the bumper and you will see the actual exhaust, if you don't then yours has the DPF option added.
