Does my X1900XT affect HD playback?

I'm thinking of selling my graphics card, as I'm not doing any gaming atm and I want to concentrate on A level revision.

However, I just realised that I watch a lot of HD material using VLC player. If I replace my graphics card with something cheap and cheerful, will I see a massive drop in performance? I'm especially worried because I watch most videos using my 26" Samsung HDTV which is connected to the second DVI part of my graphics card.

Cheers

I remember reading some kind of comparision chart between the x1300/1600/x1900 and in the video playback row it said, 480p/720p/1080p respectively. How true this is I don't know tbh!

I usually watch stuff at a resolution of 1360 * 768 on the TV. I take it it's the source material that makes the difference rather than the resolution you watch it at.
