Does no one play MW2 anymore?

I much prefer MW2 to BlackOps. Howeverm anytime I try and find a game, no one is ever there. BFBC2 and BO is always busy and plenty of games to choose from. So why is no one on MW2 anymore?

I've not even seen one person?

Theres almost 50% more people on MW2 than BO. So theres something wrong with your settings.

I play and have no problem finding games... but then i'm playing TDM.

I'm trying to also? Must be something wrong at my end then. It says my NAT is open. All other games are fine. Any ideas?

Probably coz lots of people are playing on AlterIWNet. Google it. I am yet to try it out however.

Just googled it, so basically its an online master server that allows pirated copies to run with multiplayer?

Are there any advantages other than not paying for the game? I already own it so its a bit meh to me... Seems like youll get far more kids playing a pirate version.

It's the joining that is the problem. I have found if you start a private match, say, domination, load up, cap a flag, and then end game. When you then try and joing a game it finds it very fast.

I'm the same, NAT open, all ports forwarded, in fact same settings as last year when playing it all the time. Now I need to have a steam friend in game invite me to a lobby and then they hit find game, otherwise mine counts up to 150 ping and never finds a game.

- Server list.
- A lot of people playing.
- Map packs for free.
- Server list.
- Modded servers i.e unique game types.

Regular game - Have patience. Games can take few minutes to get in to thank to the ****e that is IWNet.

Yeah same problem takes ages to join the first game, then after that no problem what so ever,

blackops is still too laggy for me, so reverted back to mw2, and i love it still get called a noob tho!, add me if you wanna team up at all moto5050

i use alerIW and it improved the game no end less lag no "host migrations" and custom rules like pistols only or knifes only which is great fun and they can ban weapons like akimbo G18's which are a major pain in the ass as there is no skill to them ...

Yeah its a right pain to get into the "queue" in the first place, I find I have to click on a game type wait til it hits about 120ms ping and go back to the list of game types again 4-5 times before it will find me a game the first time, after that its pretty quick, right pain.

For all its faults, MW2 is far more "tactile" and fluid to play than black ops.

Problem with these type of systems, especially unregulated 3rd party ones, you end up with a mess of modded servers with irregular game types and way too many servers banning major features from the game due to people's lack of skill rather than that feature being a poor one.

The bops server list is ****ty too, takes a while to load. Ive resorted to favouriting servers and refreshing them only.

just checked out the alterIWNet site and it interests me greatly

Black ops is good but MW2 is better gameplay wise IMO with better weapons and map design but the lack of dedicated servers and low FOV are real deal breakers for me

the default 80 fov with alterIWNet sounds good
