What card is similar to a 6800? a 7300?

Hey well im upgrading my pc but buying all but the new GTS to be ordered for saturday so i can buiold it all as this pc is really getting to me it soooo slow.

Anyway, its a 3 year old 6800GT and i think its PCI as i just looked in device manager and it says:

"Location PCI bus 1, device 0, function 0"

I presume that means its PCI as i dont really know.

Will it fit into the PCIe-2 slot in a abit quadGT ?

Dont really want to have to buy another graphics card for a few days.

If i need to buy one are the 7300s the same as the 6800GT?

:EDIT:

Just checked and the pc lied its agp :( and i dont think PCI works in PCI-e anyway now i think about it. So is a 6800 GT and 7300 GT the same performance abouts?

Yes, they are the same slot in shape / size. PCI-E 2.0 cards are backwards compatible to PCI-E 1.1 and PCI-E 1.0, and the same for motherboards.

No im talikig about PCI not PCI-e and i dont think it is backwards compatible.

Plus i just checked in the pc as i desided to make sure and it is AGP not PCI even though my pc is telling me its PCI grr.

So what card is similar to a 6800? a 7300?

7600GS is about the same performance. 7300GT is notably slower.

7600GT is a bit quicker than the 6800GT

Thanks, what about the ati cards? They seem cheaper as really dont want to spend anotehr 50 quid ontop of 1200 quid when the card will be used for under a week lol.

No, the X1650's weren't hypermemory/turdocache cards, that was the X1050's, 1350's and 1550's IIRC.

That's a geniune 512MB GDDR I think.

6800 GT will work fine as its PCI-E, they aint made PCI gfx cards for eons. :)

Ahh just seen its AGP, wont work at all then, and PCI cards wont work in PCI-E slots as they different.

8igdave, have you bought a card yet?

If not, you can have my old 6600GT if you like, granted, the performance isn't that of a 6800GT, but it means you need not waste money.
