Does planetside work on windows 7 ?

Hi

Fancy playing a bit of planetside again and have just recently taken delivery of a dell xps 16 i7 which has windows 7 loaded. I remember i could never get it to work very well with vista so was wondering if anyone had any experiance with windows 7 ?

It works but you have to launch it in WinXP compatibility mode.

Full compatibility (i.e as in not having to change anything) is planned for a future patch.

I reckon Planetside 2 will be out by the time they actually code it though!

Only reason i ask is that was the general feeling with vista but after trying and reading up on it it simply wouldent work for me .....

Guess the only way to give it ago is to try it, do you know if its possible to download it ? because i think one of my discs is knackered !

It'll never get patched. It does give me great pleasure to say that a planetside 2 will be out by the time it happens however!

Yep, if you download the installer from their website, it'll download anything it doesn't already have installed (including the full game), prepare for a hell of a long wait while it downloads though!

I don't have it installed anymore, but iirc the trick to getting it working in vista was to make sure the actual game exe was also set to win95 compatibility, not just the launcher.
