If you don't have enough, then more RAM will improve it. There will come a point were more won't affect anything though. I've read speed has extremely little impact.
"2BG" hardly 'a lot' of ram, try with 4GB, will probably improve but 4-8GB unlikely. BTW extra RAM becomes very useful in games when u r not playing 3DMark
Amount of RAM over and above what the application requires won't have any effect... as for speed I went from some 533MHz CAS5 to 1152MHz CAS5 and the score difference in 3D Marks 06 was barely 5%.
Thats going from like almost as slow as you can get to fairly fast... you probably wouldn't see more than 50 points difference going from say 800MHz to 1066 stuff.
