i'm tired of deleting email accounts and making new ones to beat spam.is there anything i can do ?

To be honest there is very little. You can try to have a separate email address specifically for personal use which you don't publish on forums and only hand out to friends, family and people you want emails from. Have a separate account for signing up to things on the net and you should avoid quite a bit of the spam.

Who knows :(

I have a gmail account that has zero spam in the *inbox*, which doesn't get publicised, but still a fair bit goes into the actual junk mail folder.

On the other hand I have a now 10 year old (registered in 96 iirc) hotmail account that has more spam in its inbox than legitimate messages :(

I'd imagine over time the commercial merits of spam will dwindle, after all there must be something keeping it alive, all those old men looking for cheap 'meds' and 'extensions'

my primary account i seldom use, even for surfing and yet it gets 100+ per day.i have to check through them as the odd legit message gets included.
its getting to be a bit of a bind

I don't seem to get this problem.

I've handed out my e-mail address willy-nilly since I've had it (about 5 or 6 years), and don't really get any spam at all, maybe 2 a week.

It's a free hotmail account, and as soon as I see anything I don't like, I click "report and delete" and it never bothers me again.
