Afetr several years working on a deskop, space constraints and a rare moment of logic has meant me stripping down and selling off the desktop and moving to laptop land!

However, I am one tricky customer and I don't like to compromise! After having a look at a few laptops i've decided a few of the features i need:

14" or smaller screen
Bluetooth (have a dongle, but prefer not to use) - for mx5500 KB/M
HDMI - HD playback to monitor
Blu-ray - for watching my films

I'll be keeping my monitor and keyboard and mouse to run more of my graphically intensive work and for film watching, but I'd like a mobile system, something I can use on the go but just 'plug and play' in the office.

And best of all I'd quite like to do it for around £800.

Any help much appreciated,
Rich

Well I guess maybe able to overlook the blu-ray for now, so long as I can add one in future (when availability availability/prices are more realistic) it shouldn't be a problem. I'll take a look through the XPS range now, thanks.

Anybody else got any ideas?

well the 2 front runners seem to be the dell studio xps1340 and the samsung q320 (which doesn't seem to be available yet). the white macbook is also a consideration while sony seem to have a couple of 13" models I'll have a look into.

Anything else i'm missing out on?

The XPS seems perfect for me besides the design flaw (vent being blocked), how much of an issue is this? Because for around £800 I could get a LED backlit display and enough to get a 3rd party 9 cell battery.
