Does such a thing exist?

Okay, i'm at University and they are blocking online gaming thingys such as Steam. I would like to game online and tried using my N95 with 3G. (It's free due to Web and Walk) but i was getting pings of 200+.

So is there a device like my N95 but...quicker? Something that requires a signal of some kind so it's portable?

AFAIK, there is nothing wrong with the N95 as a reciever, and is no worse then any other 3G reciever. It's the network cuasing the pings, and there is nothing you can do about that

Hmmm...thought perhaps it was the phone as ALL the CSS servers were showing pings (I am using the right phrase?) of 200 and way above...and normally (On a weak 1mb ADSL line), they are shown as being 25 to 40.

My big brother for a shortwhile was forced to use his vodaphone usb modem, which was surprisingly ok as his pings were 100-150 so he wasn't kicked by any no200+ servers and there was surprisingly little lag.

However it's a £30 a month contract on top of any phone you have

The point of being at uni is that you get OFF things like steam
