Does the at radeon 4870 x2 micro stutter?

Well i'm another one that has never had any of the problems i read about so often on forums concerning X2's so no for me it isn't and hasn't been a problem.

Theres a few articles out there that come to the conclusion that microstutter is only apparent when the fps has dipped to unplayable levels anyway so shouldn't realy make a difference.

Then again some people like to claim they can see it almost constantly, usually the same type of people that claim they can tell the diff between 95fps and 100fps....

Only time micro stutter really becomes an issue is crossfireX with cards with a big difference in performance i.e. 4870 and 4850.

I beg to differ... don't notice this in my setup.

edit : Granted there may not be the performance gap there is between the 4850 and 4870.

Its not always apparent and some people notice it more than others - also ATI have put opptomisations in newer drivers that offset the chance of microstutter at a minor expense in performance.

ive never had any "microstuttering" on my 4870x2. this was fixed on a software level on the 3870x2 and fixed on the hardware level on the 4870x2 from what ive read! it doesnt exist anymore despite what people continue to think because of the early 3870x2 problem

I went GTX280 -> 4870x2 -> GTX280 again

The gtx280 frame rate was more consistant and less stuttery , the gtx280 could render frames and a steady rate while the ati seemed to bounce about

I got the card with an open mind hoping the Ati's better design in how crossfire
works would make it a kick ass card , I was wrong.

I have no fanboism in me , I look for the best card performance /price wise

In fact I am actually angry at nvidia for price gouging me for so long , but their
card is still the better one.

I read that the ati radeon 4870 x2 micro stutters were as the geforce gtx 295 does not.

When i the prices drop i was thinking about getting the ati radeon 4870 x2 next month but ive had my share ive had m share of micro stuttering in the past and its annoying.

All multi GPU can suffer from Micro stutter to varying degrees depending on the games, whether its noticeable is what matters to the individual.

Even the 295 as its multi GPU.

Good to see people still confusing opinion with fact. What do you say to those who have suffered no issues with their own X2's?
