I just recieved my DFI infinity 975x/g board and on the box and instruction booklet is says it supports upto ddr 667. The dfi website says that is supports DDR 800 and on this site is says it can support the 'latest' ddr 2 memory.

Could someone clear this up, am I just being a noob or those this board only support upto DDR 667?

800 will be fine.

I know it is 'compatible' but I'm spending £210 on 2GB of DDR2 800 RAM and it will be a sure waste if the speeds are 'downed' by this board.

All places i've looked including DFI says it supports up to 8GB DDR2 800.

Same here.

Just wanted to confirm. There is no mention of the DDR2 800 support in any of the packaging and instructions.

I was getting worried.

I could not get mine running 1:1 at 800 mhz on the dfi with G skill HZ with 400x 9 3.6ghz

I'm not overclocking with this board (I'll get a DFI R600 for that), will I be able to get DDR2 800 speeds with this board?

Just the DFI. So if your not overclocking, DDR800 will be wasted on you. Pick up some nice value DDR667.

Ok so how hard is it to get it to support DDR2 800, what do I have to do? Also will this mean that this board will perform less in terms of DDR2 800 memory than another board that supports DDR 800?

1st of all, you can run the memory @ 6400 (800) on a devider, i.e not overclocking your cpu. (cpu @ 266 memory @ 800)

incompatability with memory is another thing.
easyrider has problems with the HZ, yet i think he used another set fine?
i used some team sticks @ 800 no problem on this board

Cheers for the reply mate. :)

I have ordered the Coarsair XMS2 pro, the PC6400 C4 2GB set. The ones still out of stock.

I'm assuming these will work?

i think easyrider tried some corsair value, im sure he will confirm.

ive only heard good things about corsair, im sure it willwork just fine

btw there is a newish decent bios out for this board might help with overclocking if you want to try.

I might just give it a go, if my order ever arrives (a week waiting now).
