HELP !

I'm just about to click buy on the Asus ATI Radeon HD 4850 (on special) and it says it's has "PCI Express 2.0 support" . I can't find anything about this on my year old Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3P ver 1.1. I've read the manual & googled but can't spot any reference to it.

Anybody know if it has support ?

thanks in advance

Brian

You're correct in saying that board has PCI Express 1.1, but PCI Express 2.0 is backwards compatible with 1.1, so your board will be perfectly fine.

Thanks , I do hope so as I clicked BUY just before I read your reply

please let us know :)

since you're oct2002, i assume you're a fuss pot like me and took ages to switch from CRT to TFT :)

currently sitting on my xa7 i19 xerox tft, tempted by the 24's though..

Nope, I was an early adopter. CRT distortions really bugged me , hated pincushion/trapezoidal bends. I've either been lucky with my TFT's (or I've got crap eyes) as I've played FPS on them daily & never noticed blur / lag :D

LCD history

15" TFT from purple shop for £600 about 9 years ago
17" Sammy
21.5 " Sammy

now for 24 inches ;)

It's going to be used for photo-editing, killing aliens & browsing OcUK so if you want a non geek review I'll do one .
