¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Some sites say it supports spdif, but there doesn't seem to be a port on the motherboard.

Will I need some sort of adaptor for spdif ?

Thanks

It doesnt come with one (just looked at the Gigabyte website) but it does say "support" for one, whatever that means (3.5mm to SPDIF adapter?).

If you dont have the board already? then the Z77-D3H has a SPDIF.

It's on my shortlist of Z77 boards, so I haven't bought it yet.

I'll send an email to gigabyte and see what exactly is involved in getting spdif to work, if there is an adaptor and it isnt extortionately priced then I'll go that route.

I'll check out the D3H also however, I think it has a via sound chip as opposed to a Realtek one however so I need to check if this will be an issue as I'm planning to run both windows and Linux.
