Does the PlayStation Network patch games?

Much like when you stick a game in the 360 and it says "there is an update available", do you get this prompt on the PS3 also?

I am wondering if CoD 3 PS3 ever got patched because the reviews of it talk about numerous bugs and crashes.

I havent had it happen with any game on the PS3 yet, but I suppose it's possible so they may do it as needed in the future.

Yeah it does,

Resistance has a patch out for it.

aaah, not really played resistance so that's why I missed it.
