Does the Quest 2 plug into the USB-C on the GPU ?

Am thinking of buying a Quest 2 and am not sure if you Plug it into the USB-C on my GPU or into one my motherboard USB-C sockets or if you can just plug it in to any of them

I just been doing some googling and i see the real name for the GPU USB-C is VirtualLink
VirtualLink - Wikipedia

From reading a few posts it seems like it works great on some GPU's but not others
