Does the SLI bridge really make a difference?

Sorry if this is a dumb question and I suspect I know the answer but I'm looking at one of these. https://www.overclockers.co.uk/msi-gaming-2-way-long-sli-bridge-with-led-dragon-logo-gx-298-ms.html

The question is, aside from the aesthetic will there be any other difference at all to performance? I have a 1440p and 144hz monitor which is supposedly the type of setup these are aimed at. I know it's fairly cheap but I don't think I'm willing to pick one of these up just for it to look somewhat nicer. Performance is actually more than acceptable anyway, I just wondered if one of these would provide even a small boost to performance?

I suspect it's a resounding no, but if anyone knows for sure I'd be grateful. Thanks.

Which cards?

Assuming you are comparing like product for like product then no, they make absolutely zero difference.

If you are referring to the new SLI bridge for 10xx series cards then allegedly there may be. But this is only between old gen bridge versus new gen, not between aesthetically different models.

Thanks, I thought as much. The cards are GTX 970's, I should have mentioned that in the original post.

Good to know though, I'm not too fussed about how it looks as I won't see it 99% of the time anyway.

Cheers again, I'll stick with what I have.
