My free-view box died. It was one of the 1st ever made and had a good life :)

I'm now after a new one with built in Hdd for recording but was also thinking of combining this with my media player (old freecom job).

Does anything exist (at a cheep price) that will record free-view, play Xvid and divx plus DVD vobs, ISO etc... you know the stuff ;)

My TV doesn't have built in freeview, it was bought just on the cross over time.

Any suggestions?

[EDIT] Would also need some way of conecting to my 5.1 system, digital, optical etc

Buy a cheap supermarket box to tide you over until DVB-T2 boxes appear next year. Would be a waste to spend on a feature rich DVB-T box now imo.

Where I work we had a box come in recently called IPTV (I think) and that does everything you mention, has an inbuilt drive, can be extended by adding more, will stream from your PC and also can get web content, iPlayer, Youtube etc. Think its about £200 though.
