Edit (Thurs 21 October 2008): I've done a bit of changing to the previous build and have pretty much settled upon this. As long as there are no compatibilty problems I'm happy with it but would appreciate a once over by you fellers :)

I'll be bringing it into the living room to play hi-def movies and occasionally medium/slightly high spec games such as Doom3, Half Life 2, Bioshock, etc but definitely not the likes of Crysis.

One thing I'd like to know is if I have enough room fit a cooler to the graphic card, which would be best recommended? The 4670's run very high temps from the reviews I've read and obviously I don't want that in a confined case.

No o/s?

You will fill the HD in no time at all, but that isn't really an issue as there is plenty of room to fit another one in.

I have that case, Optical Drive and HDD and had no issues with any of them to date

I think the 8800GT will be a bit big for that case.
Spend a bit more money & get a HD4670 instead, its a smaller card, its better suited for HTPC duties & is almost as powerful.

Have copies of Vista and XP fortunately.

I'll take a look.

Thanks.

May aswell get some cheaper ram to, such as the OCZ PC2-6400 stuff which is £23. Use the money saved to get the WD 640GB blue hard drive (its dead silent and faster than that seagate).

This is what I have spec'd for myself at the moment:

Antec NSK 2480 MATX Desktop Case Black & Silver - With 380W EarthWatts PSU
Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-S2H 780G Socket AM2+ onboard VGA 8 channel audio mATX Motherboard
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4850e 2.5GHz Socket AM2 Energy Efficient 1MB L2 Cache Retail Boxed Processor
Scythe Mini Ninja Socket 478/775/754/939/940/AM2 Heatpipe Cooler
OCZ 2GB Kit (2x1GB) DDR2 800MHz/PC2-6400 CL 4-4-4-15 PLATINUM XTC with LIFETIME WARRANTY
Western Digital WD6400AAKS 640GB Hard Drive SATAII 7200rpm 16MB Cache - OEM

Total: £260 ish

The onboard graphics will play 1080p fine, but as you wanna play games you could do as some one suggested above and drop in a HD4670 instead.
