does this laptop support 64 bit OS?

RAM - 1gb (owner does not know if it is ddr or ddr2)

With 1GB of RAM it's not worth bothering with a 64-bit OS IMO.

Agreed, you're not going to see any performance advantage. If anything, it might even be slightly slower.

Yes it'll support it, but unless there's a specific piece of software that is 64 bit that you need to use then don't bother.

supports it, if you are buying the win 7 licence, you may as well get 64bit as you could then use it on something else, otherwise, 32 bit will be fine.

Its only because it runs xp and I have a windows 7 pro x64 upgrade disk which I wanted to sell

Irrelevant, they are the same licence whether x64 or x86
