Does this look like MICRON DDR PC3200 to you?

I just bought this memory from auction, it was listed as MICRON 2GB 2 x 1GB PC3200 however I have never seen any Micron memory that looks like this and it flat out refuses to work in any of the systems I have (they all work fine with Crucial/OCZ/Corsair, 1GB sticks too!).

The D9DVZ is a Micron product, but the chips themselves look more like BGA RAM chips off a graphics card.

Edit: It could be ECC RAM.

Edit: Scrub that, there isn't enough chips for ECC.

Ok thanks Jokester,

Hmm when I install them the system just flat out refuses to boot and all the mobo alarms start sounding off.

Can't say I seen such a fail before except for a single 256MB stick of Corsair PC2700 I came across many years ago.

Have booted PC using my other memory, made adjustments to vDimm, Timing etc and then replaced my sticks with the ones above and no go! The systems work fine with other 1GB sticks so its not a memory size issue?

Ah well emailed seller for a refund, just really didn't look like Micron sticks to me as they normally have a micron sticker of some sort?

Its that crap high density PC3200 that only works in Via boards.

Not an exhaustive list, and not guaranteed as motherboards vary, but:

INTEL 915; NVIDIA NFORCE3 250GB; NVIDIA NFORCE4 SLI; SIS 645; SIS 648; SIS 648FX; SIS 650; SIS 650GX; SIS 655; SIS 661FX; SIS 746FX; ULI CHIPSETS; VIA K8T800; VIA KM333; VIA KM400; VIA KT266; VIA KT333; VIA KT333A; VIA KT400; VIA KT400A; VIA KT600; VIA KT880; VIA P4X266A; VIA PM800; VIA PT800; VIA PT880.

The following additional boards might possibly work with some High Density modules - but equally they might not:

SIS 649; SIS 651; SIS 656; SIS 661; SIS 748; SIS 750; SIS 755; SIS 756; VIA APOLLO P4X400; VIA K8M800; VIA K8M890; VIA K8N800; VIA K8N890; VIA K8T890; VIA K8T900; VIA P4M800 PRO; VIA P4M890; VIA P4M900; VIA PN800; VIA PT800; VIA PT890.

Thanks for that list sr4470, hmmm . . .

It won't work on an nVidia nForce-2 Ultra 400 chipset (ABIT NF7 v2), maybe I will knock up a quick system using an nVidia nForce-4 (ASUS A8N-E) to see if that works?

Apart from that I have a mate still using a VIA KT333 which could be worth a quick test! (cough*upgrade*cough).

I'm normally pretty good at buying sticks, I assumed as it was Micron it would be fine (or at least it always has been in the past?).

Cheap Chinese fakes :)
Not a hope in hell of being Micron, the chips might be Micron, but I highly doubt it.
If its the same person who comes up in when you search for the title, then he's well known for fakes. Oh, and retaliatory negs too- Avoid like the plauge.
