Hi there, I've just inherited some money from a relative that passed away (with every cloud there's a silver lining and all that) and I was thinking of using a bit of it on upgrading my pc. It will be used mostly for gaming, watching films, and general internet browsing. This is what I came up with after checking the forums and reading some reviews:

YOUR BASKET
1 x Gigabyte Z97X-UD3H-BK - Devil's Canyon Core i7 4790K CPU & Motherboard Bundle **£35 Saving** £367.98
1 x MSI GeForce GTX 970 Gaming Edition 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £275.99
1 x Crucial MX100 512GB SATA 2.5” 7mm SSD + 9.5mm Adapter CT512MX100SSD1) £154.99
1 x Avexir Core White Series 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 PC3-17200C11 2133MHz Dual Channel Memory Kit (AVD3U21331108G-2CIW) - White Light £129.95
1 x Phanteks Enthoo Luxe Full Tower Case - Black £119.99
1 x Western Digital Caviar Black 2TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache - OEM (WD2003FZEX) HDD £99.98
1 x SuperFlower Leadex GOLD 850W Fully Modular "80 Plus Gold" Power Supply - Black £89.99
1 x Corsair Hydro H100i High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler (CW-9060009-WW) £88.00
2 x Phanteks PH-F120MP PWM 120mm Fan £10.99 (£21.98)
Total : £1,365.35 (includes shipping : £13.75).

Would you change anything in the above spec? I'm tempted to upgrade my monitor at the same time, and was thinking of going for a 2560x1440 display, is there one you'd recommend? Also, if I go for the higher resolution monitor, it looks from some benchmarks I've seen like it might be worth going SLI if I want to play games at high to maximum settings and maintain 60fps, is it worth going SLI with the 970?

Two things,

The case will take a H105 or H110 which are bigger rads (thicker or wider).

2TB HDD when a 3TB costs less.

Thanks for the info guys. Does the Enthoo Luxe have room in the roof for the H110? That's where I'd be looking to install it. I'll go for the cheaper HDD that you recommended doomedspeed, thanks. Is that AOC monitor well thought of? I've always had Dell Ultrasharps, they seem to have a great picture so I was looking at the most recent model:

How does it compare to the AOC?

The H110 must fit.

As for the dell, I've seen many users moan about its backlight in the lower left corner.

Depends if you want 140mm fans or not. :)

As for the Monitor the AOC is well reviewed, for its money.. Its a nice chunk (maybe £100) cheaper than the Dell, very good value..

I have also read about the backighting problem with the dells..
