Im in the process of sending out an internal memo regarding a company we use to check drivers licences, mots, insurance. They are sending emails out but our staff are ignoring them.
Here is the memo :-
This is a polite reminder that Driver Check carries out period checks on all staff that drive company vehicles and have car allowances for the use of there own personal vehicle on company business. E-mails received from driver check must be replied to with the requested documentation. A typical e-mail from driver check can be found attached to this memo.
The company provides company vehicle and car allowances to its employees who are required to use a vehicle to carry out their work for the company, or according to their role or status.
For all staff that drive on company business, the company has a legal obligation to check driving licences on a regular basis to ensure that employees hold a current, valid licence. Industry best practice recommends that they are checked every 12 months as a minimum standard. It is a condition of the provision of a company vehicle or allowance, including occasional drivers that a licence check is completed. As part of the company’s improved management of Occupation Road Risk Policy (ORR), the company uses the services of Driver Check for a carrying out driving licence verification services.
For all staff that drive on a company business, with there own personal vehicle, the company has a legal obligation to check that the vehicle being driven has the correct legally required documentation such as a :-
Valid and up to date MOT certificate
Valid and up to date Road tax
Insurance (For business purposes)
The company uses the services of Driver Check for a carrying out these checks under our ‘grey fleet’ service agreement.
