With the help of Meatloaf, I have decided on making a pc based on this setup. Though I am confused about a few things.

Is the Graphics Card ok? In Meatloaf's recommendation, it was a Leadtek GeForce 7900 GS 256MB GDDR3 (£129.24). Should I stick with what I have selected, or what Meatloaf suggested? Both seem similar, and Meatloaf's recommendation seems cheaper. Is there any big difference between the 2?

And I would also like to know, can I use any fans such as the Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro on the CPU? Everyone's praising it. What thermal compound is best to use?

Thanks

Farhad

As this is new rig you're buying... Why don't you by an Intel Core 2 Duo Setup.?

It'll kill an AMD X2-3800+ ;)

You could get one for the same price....

I'd agree with Virdi, changing to a Conroe based system will not cost much, if any more and offers better performance. I'd also change the graphics card to an X1800XT, it costs less and offers either the same performance or greater.

Unless you particularly like the case or PSU I'd consider changing them to allow you to get Conroe if money is the issue and the suggested changes put you over budget.

cheers for the suggestions. If I get the conroe, it will be my first ever ever ever Intel based system lol. It will be new ground for me, but similar to AMD I guess.

Right so I'll take what you've said into consideration, which means I gotta change the motherboard, and I'm not sure what to get for the conroe. Any suggestions?
