Hi all,
Got a bit of a problem with my machine. A couple of weeks ago I went to boot it up and I just got a shed load of really fast beeps at POST. I stripped the machine down and gradually put it back together, and it seemed to work again.
I just tried booting up today and all I get is fans/HDD spinning up, and nothing else. No POST and no beeps. I thought it could be a RAM issue so I replaced my G.Skill with Corsair and same problem. So I took the RAM completely out and exactly the same - no beeps or nothing. Just fans and HDD.
MB is an original Gigabyte DS3 on F4 BIOS from 2006. I know they're hardly the most reliable MB ever, but thought I'd make a post here before I went out and bought a replacement.
I've also tried resetting BIOS with both the jumper CMOS clear and taking the battery out for 5 mins.
EDIT: Oh, when it was acting up before it took a few attempts to get it to boot up (I was switching memory out and trying different PSUs). It eventually started working again with no rhyme or reason with the original hardware config.
Any thoughts?
Cheers!
