Does this sound like a PSU issue?

A few weeks back I started losing control of my USB mouse, it would cut out for a second and then come back. After a few days of this I got a message that all of my USB ports were not being sufficiently powered. Now, my mouse cuts off all the time. It is mainly when I move it around fairly fast, if I waggle it from side to side now it would just die, I would get a message telling me a USB peripheral has malfunctioned and I would have to take it out and put it back to return control. This happens regardless of whether I use the USB ports on the motherboard or the case ports. Also, I can't power another peripheral at all any more, my flight stick.

This problem gets worse every day, it cuts out more and more as every day passes. Far more worryingly and the reason I don't believe it to be dodgy USB ports (or mouse) is that I have started to get crashes. This only happens when the mouse cuts out. The mouse will die and after a few seconds my PC just reboots. The mouse dies about a million times a day and I get about 5 crashes a day I would guess. That's a couple of hours of use.

The PSU is a Tagan 430w. The rest is in my sig.

I really can't afford to buy a replacement part only to find out it was never the issue. Many thanks to anyone who has time to reply, appreciate it :)

Sounds more like a mobo problem to me but you could run everything at stock and see if the problem still exists, if it does then more likely a mobo problem.

Really? Even though the mouse is crapping out on the case ports too? Il give stock settings a go tomorrow, cheers.

I guess I'm just reluctant to blame the mobo, cause that will be a right faff

Will there be any danger if I try a £20 PSU for and hour or two?

Often cheap PSUs go when you first turn them on, I wouldn't recommend it.

It may be possible to power the Graphics Card and HDD etc off of the Tagan and use the cheap one just on the mobo and CPU but I've never tried that.

Well the case ports connect to the mobo and the USB controller for all USB ports is on the mobo, hence my thoughts above.

EDIT: Also it might be worth downloading something like SiSoft Sandra and checking what speeds things like the PCI, PCI-E buses are running at in case your overclock is overclocking them too.
