Evening all,

Purchases some 4gb corsair ram the other week, system was working fine before with 2gb of corsair in. Added the 4gb to make 6gb and the system wouldnt boot.

Removed the 4gb and pc still wouldnt boot. Removed 1 1gb stick and booted fine. Stuck a 2gb stick in on its own and was fine.

PC will boot with 1 stick in only, managed to get it to boot with 4gb for a little while in dual. The pc has been off for a couple of days and wont boot again. However with 1 stick in its totally fine.

The mobo is a gigabyte p65-ds3. Ta!

Well strange one here, now running in single channel with 2 sticks in 1st yellow & red (4gb), the other 2 dimm slots wont boot up.

Could the memory have shorted the board?!? Not happy if it did.

Think the DS3 is your problem. I have same board, and have never managed to boot with more than 2 sticks of ram, it freezes after doing the memory test and doesn't post.

Also freezes in 3d apps - have tried 4 different graphics card with no change.
I wish I'd got round to sending it back when I bought it, instead of putting it back away and sticking with old rig until I had time to faff about with it (18 months later).
