Any particular reason for AMD? Intel is generally the better value and overclocker of the two at the moment. As far as I can tell it is all compatible though.

Although the "how long will it last?" question is a bit like asking 'how long is a piece of string?'. It depends on what settings you use and what you deem acceptable in performance terms.
