I don't know much about building computers, this is my first. my budget is roughly around £1k I got a friend to put this build together, any improvements or is it allright?

i'll be playing games such as world of warcraft, counter strike:source, graphics design and software development.

He also said something about waiting two months for the new intel p96 chip or something and that I can get a system with 15%/20% more performance boost for roughly the same price.

What Stulid said basically....

Still not sure about the look of that RAM though :p

Also for £1000 you could easily get a better graphics card, in fact you could just downgrade that motherboard and get a better GPU, not too sure why you'd need a UD4 with that build...

i also edited the case and i am not sure if this one is compatible with the components would be great if somone could check for me.

also what do you guys have to say about the p96 chip or whatever it is? am i better off waiting a few months? im not sure what the advantages are.

Never heard of a new chipset coming out, there is a revision coming of the standard P67 chipset to fix the sata issue.

and change the cpu to the OEM one.

This was the message he sent me, "I can give you a build, but if you are looking at ~1K pounds as a price point your best bet would be to hold off for about 2 months or so. Intel is releasing the revised sandy bridge chipset tomorrow, and it should be available to custom builders at good prices at that point in time. For the same or less money you'll get a PC that's 15-20% faster than what you can build right now for that same 1K pounds."

stulid can you also sum up why i changed the power supply? and it is worth going from 4gb to 8gb? i think i can get to 8gb for 50 pounds more.

Pretty sure z58 or something like that (can't really remember, only heard whispers here and there) is coming out Q2, but can't quite remember what it is really.... Haven't actually checked into it too much....

The P67 is fine...

The 650w XFX psu is more than enough.

The above results from Anandtech are using a more power hungry Intel older socket 1366 i7 sytem too.

This is a review of the psu - http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/XFX-PRO-650-W-Power-Supply-Review/1165
