Hi all,

Asking if anyone knows on the offchance if this sort of RCA to USB adapter will work in Linux e.g. Ubuntu please?

No hotlinked images. Thank you.

Ideally I would like to have a constant stream from my SCART (RCA) output to a channel in TVheadend but think that's unlikely, but I'd like to know if anyone knows if I can get anything out of it in Linux.

Thanks for the replies, I haven't bought it yet but some research tells me that some people manage to get it to show as /dev/video0 etc..... does that help?

I also read whilst doing some research that even if it's possible to be seen by linux, it's hard to get any video to display from it because it hasn't got drivers to manipulate the input, have you got experience of this adapter Pete?

/dev/video0 is the default placement to access the stream.

Found the Easycap one you mentioned Pete and ordered it, will let you know the output from lsusb when it arrives. I thought about it and follow a similar train of thought to you, I don't even want it to output the video to a screen, just send it over IP to somewhere else with a hard drive to record it, or a pc with a graphics card.
