Im using the belkin f8t012uk dongle. It immediately hangs the system if i connect it, (When the belkin drivers are installed).

Does anyone know of vista drivers, or if vista can natively support it like xp sp2 did? All I want is to use my bluetooth headset and maybe transfer some photos to and from my mobile phone.

Maybe it is just unsigned kernel mode drivers that you can't use, not sure tbh. I would have thought if it works in XP SP2 then it would work in Vista, my bluetooth dongle won't work in either without installing the drivers though.

Vista does support it. I just plugged in my BT device and it just worked stright away..

Not too sure how you're going to pick it up. However, go to control panle then BT devices and turn descovery on. Then see if you can get your cell phone or other BT device to see it?

If you want to send a file you have to right click the bt icon in task bar and select recieve file.

How do I get vista to pick it up then :S it told me to insert the installation cd because it didnt have any drivers for it
Vista might support bluetooth natively, but it will still need drivers for your bluetooth dongle.

Just like Windows supports wireless networking - you still need drivers for the network card to enable the inbuilt wireless zero config to do its thing.

I never mentioned software. You need still need a driver for the device - windows has a load of built in drivers for standard chipsets, but if yours is slightly different you would have to provide your own.

It would sound odd... you're using x86? They may have changed the drivers since XP, who knows. You've definitely tried telling it to search Windows Update?

My Dell Bluetooth (on my laptop) was picked up straight away and works in Vista (somewhat, I'm still sure it's very buggy. I've yet to get my phone to connect properly).

Yea its strange. I was using a copy before xmas, and The bluetooth worked fine with the belkin drivers, but now it hangs immediately if i try to use them. Im gonna re install it anyway because I cant get the 360 to connect to the media center.

Hopefully it will work this time around!
