Does anyone know if Vista upscales DVD's when they are played through Media Centre ?

I have my laptop connected to my TV and it would be great if it did ?

Thanks for any help.

upscales to what? What tv do you have and how you connecting it? What dvd source are you using or are you using ripped content re-encoded with h.234?

I play DVD discs in the laptop, aswell as video files that are stored on the laptop. Im more interested in the DVD upscaling side of things though.

I am connected via VGA to my 720p Samsung 32" LCD (1376x768 or whatever it is).

Thank you:)

You can get a plug in which makes ffdshow work with media center, well worth looking into as you can then use all sorts of fancy resize filters to get a much better result. You can also use better de-interlacing methods if you use your media PC for watching live TV too, giving much better fluidity (CRT like) and a better picture.
