Have been using VLC for many years and have not really thought about it in the past, but does VLC offer the best Video Quality?

Is there anything better?

I find Media Player Classic with ffdshow to give superior results, but it can take a while fine tuning the settings before you notice any difference. For casual viewing VLC is easier.

Mind spilling the beans on what settings to fine tune then? Or perhaps you know of a pretty decent link?

I found media player classic with FFDShow gave a better quality picture than VLC. Although VLC is a great app just install it and you can play nearly any file with out having to install codecs :).
