Does Win XP Pro SP2 support QuadCore?

Hi,

Does Windows XP Pro (SP2) fully support quadcore (i.e. Q6600)? Just someone has said it only supports 1 or 2 cores and if you install will only use 2 cores instead of 4? This sounds like tosh to me, but I may be wrong!

He says Vista is the only Win OS to support quad?

Please help!

Yes, it does. So long as the cores are on the same processor.

Professional can supposedly support two physical processors no matter how many cores.

"Someone" is getting cores and processors confused.
WinXP Professional can support 1-2 processors.
Each of those processors could have 8 cores on if you liked...
