Hi,

Does Windows XP Pro (SP2) fully support quadcore (i.e. Q6600)? Just someone has said it only supports 1 or 2 cores and if you install will only use 2 cores instead of 4? This sounds like tosh to me, but I may be wrong! ;) He says Vista is the only Win OS to support quad?

Please help! :)

Yes, it does. So long as the cores are on the same processor. :) (Home)

Professional can supposedly support two physical processors no matter how many cores.

"Someone" is getting cores and processors confused.
WinXP Professional can support 1-2 processors.
Each of those processors could have 8 cores on if you liked...
