Does Windows 8 Pro / Ultimate still include XP mode?

If you can't run them under Windows 8 consider using a virtual machine, such as VMware player, virtualbox etc.

They virtualise a PC, within a window once setup. You'll need an XP license and disk/ISO to make them though.

Unfortunately the Hyper-V in Win8 requires pretty much an i7 to work (requires extended page tables / SLAT support). Which means things like VirtualBox and VMware still have some life left in them for anyone using Win8 on an older CPU.

Annoyingly Server 2012's Hyper-V does not have this limitation. It's done because of some nitty gritty details regarding graphics cards and virtual memory access. Basically MS figured that RemoteFx support for all client editions of Win8 was more important.

Thankfully I'm good on that front.
