I have 2 windows XP machines, miles away, and they both to a nightly backup to a Linux box using samba and windows filesharing.
Machine 1 is running Remote desktop on a non-standard port and when doing nightly backups, even with Remote desktop connected, everything goes fine.
Machine 2 is running Remote desktop the standard port (3389) and when I try to do a backup my Remote desktop session freezes and disconnects. Is this because Windows filesharing is somehow conflicting with Remote desktop?
When I'm able to connect to machine 2 again (god knows when that is), I'll try changing the Remote desktop port, but has anyone had this problem?
