Does wiping cache/data etc delete the downloaded ROM on your phone?

I'm trying to install a custom ROM. In twrp I believe my you have to wipe everything first. Cache/data and whatever else you can wipe before you install the ROM.

Will this delete the ROM I have downloaded to my phone?

No, it will not wipe the ROM. Just the existing user data/settings and the apps you have installed yourself (does not wipe the factory default ones that came with the current ROM installed)
