I have the very first original xbox one. I'm struggling to find if it has Bluetooth for the newer Bluetooth controllers?

My xbox one is in the other room and I sometimes connect it to my pc screen by a long hdmi cable I've got set up. Works fine but the controller will randomly drop signal so need a replacement.

Also I've tried the new white Bluetooth controller but didn't like it as I was often clicking the bumper buttons by accident. Are all new xbox controllers now this style?

The Xbox One doesn't use Bluetooth to communicate, it's Microsoft's own proprietary wireless protocol. I think the Bluetooth is just there* to facilitate easier connections to PCs/laptops/tablets.

OK so is the wireless signal better on the new controllers for the xbox one original? I struggle with the controller getting signal way too much due to the location of the box and was hoping the newer controllers would get better signal. if the xbox one doesn't have bluetooth i assume then that's not the case?

No Xbox console has Bluetooth (cos it's sh**), the Bluetooth radio is only used to easily connect to a phone or PC.

The new S model controllers have "up to twice the wireless range", but this is only when using the new Xbox One S console, as the Xbox wireless radio will have been upgraded in the console itself too.

Btw, I know what I'm talking about when it comes to Xbox controllers, http://www.edds-xbox.co.uk/xbox-one-controllers.html :P

You might want to try changing the channel for your WiFi as it may be interfering, even on the old controllers the range is really good, I can use my controller pretty much anywhere in my house without it disconnecting.

thanks appreciate the tip. i will give it a go then as the range is really rubbish between these stud walls. i have to have the door open between the room i'm in and the xbox next door so it's got a clear line of site, but i'm only at most 2.5 metres away, and sometimes even my chair back can seem to cause issues so if i sit sideways in the chair i can get 100% no problem
