With the next gen consoles being the hot topic at the moment, the first thing that struck me was the price comparison, I thought it was quite a considerable difference.

The one thing that the PS3 always gained over the 360 was the Blu ray drive, it was like Sony's ace card. Do we know of any 'big' differences between the new consoles and what makes one more appealing than the other?

Well the price gap was similar only the other way around last time and the Xbox sold better but it's not like Sony were struggling so I expect the opposite of that really.

Talking about price... the cross platform games will all be at least 50% cheaper on PC than either next-gen console.

Apart from the exclusives, I don't think my PS4 is going to get much use.

I honestly wouldn't game at all if it weren't for cheap-ass Steam sales and the like.

Trollolololololol

Not at all, I intend to buy both consoles so Im unbias. Ive always had both the PS3 and 360 for the exclusive games. Multi plat games were reserved for PC of course. So if Im a troll, Im more of a PC troll, cos PC is king! :p

I can see absolutely no appeal whatsoever for buying an Xbox One unless you simply have to buy their exclusives or want the Kinect.

The PS4 advantages are:
  • Cheaper
  • Better Specs
  • Plays games offline
  • Games can be traded
  • Better design (my opinion)

Overall the PS4 is for gamers, the Xbox One is for an entertainment system for the whole family.

This, im heartbroken as im a halo fanboy and loved the 360, even got myself the gears of war 3 special edition with funky sounds! but I cannot support a console that's just one big inconvenience to uk customers. (my internet is shakey at times and ive even gone weeks without.)

I'll get both consoles, but getting Xbox One at launch. No games on PS4 have sparked my interest as yet, where as there are several on Xbox One.

Kinect, TV functionality etc are all added bonuses. The nearly always online etc doesnt concern me neither does the price difference.

Only slight concern is the used games aspect, but by no means a deal breaker.

Both consoles look ugly however :-)

You missed the best thing out..(That if they do the same as the PS3 & PS Vita)

Free Games on PS+..................;)

Of course it does. It still has the better controller and a big customer base that won't care or even know about its restrictions.

Since both controllers have changed, I don't know how you can make this claim unless you have used both.

Unless "better" only means that the sticks are asymmetrical, which is entirely preference.
