Let me set the scene.
we have a drive, to which outside is our water meter in the payment outside our drive.
a couple of months ago, watermarks appeared from the meter leading down to the road just off the pavement.
thinking the obvious, i thought a leak, get in touch with the water company to have this fixed. they came on 2 occasions suggesting no leaks, and couldn't explain the water marks. the water is there every couple of days now.
only a few days ago the mrs' noticed, a neighbour from a few doors away taking his dog for a walk, decided to let his dog urinate on the meter, and then move on!!!
i went to pay them a visit, i managed to meet the guy's dad and explained everything. he apologized and said it wont happen again. except, nothing has stopped since then.
the guy who takes the damn dog for a walk must be in his 40s, and the bloody dog is a big hairy Alsatian.
any advice, how i should handle this now? is this police or council territory?
initially i cant believe someone would do this, but then to carry on..for gods sake!!

I wouldn't have thought it was either police or council territory. Ok, it's a bit annoying and maybe even unsightly if there are watermarks appearing on your water meter but these things are designed to be pretty impervious to weather so a dog peeing on them makes little to no odds.

If it would make you feel better then try to remind the dog owner when you see them outside with the dog that he agreed to avoid it happening again but I don't think there's a lot to be done.

You're getting upset about a dog ****ing? It's not on your property right? What do you want the owner to do? Suck it up with a straw? Or carry on down the road and pee on someone elses meter.

I know exactly what you mean, I reported the cows in the field opposite me for farting. Police or council won't do a damn thing. Ruddy outrageous if you ask me.

My neighbours dog pees over my car (usually the wheels), my front door and my wheelie bin. It has on occasions peeded over the car doors.

It's bloomin annoyinng..... because it's the same height that my kids push the door open.

In fact I now tell my kids to wash their hands every time they push our front door open (as there is usually dog pee over our bin or porch). And I spend 10 minutes of my week cleaning dog ^^^^ off my car and front door just so that my family don't unknowingly get their hands covered in my neighbours dog ^^^^.

Most people who own dogs now think it's OK to let them ^^^^ all over everything - even though there are laws stopping them doing a dump everywhere - please explain what the difference is someone ? If he owns the dog, and takes it for a walk - he should be decent enough to not let if do it's business anywhere near a house that children might be playing.

Am I being unreasonable ?

Some lazy ass american woman, who loves to play on the fact she's from 'NY' when really she's a thick ******* pis shead, moved into a flat upstairs a month or two ago, and the lazy cow just lets her stupid pathetic yappy tiny dog crap in the garden and leave it.

An older neighbour who mows the communual rear garden tried to have a word, but the yank was drunk apparently and didn't really take notice.

Found a smear of **** in the stair, tried to tap her door to get her to clean it up but no answer.

So next time its throw it in her face, or over her windows and see how the stupid yank cow likes that.

Next time you see them just have a pee over the dog. You know the old saying a pee for a pee....

OP didn't say anything about dog peeing on his property.

In you case I'd be pretty hacked off too, and if the owners weren't reasonable I'd find a way to make the dog hate being in my garden (i.e. turn a pressure washer on it everytime it comes in).

whilst we're on the subject of dogs. my neighbours leave their dog in the house by its own from 8am til 4pm and it barks non fricking stop in the house. is there a law against this kind of thing now?

put it in a paper bag stick it in her letter box.

people with dogs disgust me, theres a park close to where i live thats got a huge playing field next to it with goal posts etc, loads of people play football & cricket there but also loads of ******** walk dogs on the playing field and its littered with poo all over...

take my kid to the area to kick a ball about sometimes and its like navigating a minefield trying to find an area not covered in dog feces, i dont think ive ever witnessed a single person with a bag+poop scooper

ok, to set the record straight. the water meter is our meter for our property, to which i have to supply a reading to our water company every month! (this entails lifting the latch to read the meter)
i have 2 small kids who have to walk pass this every day before going to nursery, i have to ensure they dont touch or walk over the bloody patch where the dog does it business.
the owner has a tree outside his own house, but goes out of his way to ensure he pee's outside my house! this is on the pavement...not on the side anywhere!!
am i being unreasonable?
