Borrowed the neighbours trolley jack and didn't realise it wasn't a wise move to jack on the jacking point. Now it's all bent and there's bare metal showing. What's a good thing to put over it so it doesn't rust?

If any of the paint has come away from the metal get that all off first then paint on the new paint, otherwise it could rust from the inside out (bubble the paint off).

I am still unsure about trolley jacking, I use a piece of wood between the car and jack to avoid any damage. Then lower it onto an axel stand at the jacking point.

Would like to know the correct method though.

Nail varnish. No jokes, either.

funny story

I rented a car with some mates and we drove to Courchevel in France for some skiing, we pranged the car whilst we were there, wasnt too bad until you went over 100 then it was like a mad black mamba ***** on full kick mode (so im told, honest) so we had bent something in the trannie nps they cant test for that, anyway, there were also a few scrapes and dents - eager to not have to lose our deposit we set about trying to match the colour to paints in shops, none of them cut the mustard, nearly out of options (and deposit) we had a brain wave on the ferry back and raided the beauty duty free thingy, 4 guys all running round comparing each others nail varnish to get the best match, was an honestly hysterical site.....Plus it worked a treat, Avis never noticed and we all learnt a lot about nail varnish :D

maybe its not that funny to read, but christ I still laugh hard thinking about it :)
