Comp just crashed and i lost a 6oo pointer!! Damn!

Thing is it was on my P4 northwood which had been working on said 600 pointer for 2 days already!! 2 days wasted!! Its my fault as well as i've been fiddling!!

Bring on my c2d upgrades next year!!

Them that fiddle when folding, get paper cuts.

Always stop F@H when doing software tweeks to your PC it's stressing all your components and fluctions = instability = fatal error.

If tweeking inside the case, always power off. 30 min's of non-folding better that crash 'n' EUE. Was installing an extra case fan once in a power up PC, droped screw, landed on GPU - big spark, followed by silance. OMG :eek:

Dead GPU, If that happened in a new system with GPU having it's own power supply ??? not worth it - not matter how busy you are or how simple the task. Power off - and disconnect cable

Thats the irony of it, i had been stopping the folding service whilst i was playing around. The one time i forgot i got stung! Typical!

Well aware of the dangers of hardware fiddling and electrickery, its my line of work. Remember i guy i worked with dropped a cup of coffee into an open server case while it was on! :eek:

Tripped the breaker and shut down all the machines we were working on in the lab. He had fun explaining that one to the boss!

Ouch! P45 to the man with the coffee stain.

And it's always 'the one time' you don't power down. Been their and done that far to many times (you think we'd learn

).
