Must be the sunshine going to my head but I've offered to help some random geezer out from the DC5 forums today. He wants a DC5, lives in Solihull but has the same problem I had - can't find any dealers even remotely local. They all seem to be right up north, right down south or West Country.

Meeting him at lunchtime today to give him a passenger ride for 20 mins or so. Fingers crossed he's not a freak.

So, question is - do I scare the crap out of the guy or take it easy? :p

Last time I soiled myself whilst driving was during an OcUK meet, full on the brakes from well into 3 figures.

Less said about that the better.

Do it again :p :D

make sure that the oil is nice and warm and runny when you pick him up and then drive the car right on the limit of traction :D

full chat all the way, red line every gear change and generally scare him witless

HT

take a mate with you and have him sit in the seat behind the front passenger side, in case this guy decides he wants your DC5, he is from near Brum, after all :p :)

Sorry! :(

I didn't mean to make you worry! It's just you're picking someone up that you don't really know.... It's definatly a good idea to have someone with you.

If you get to where you're picking him up from and there's more than one person there, don't let them both in / in at all.

I'd hate to see someones car taken from them in this way.

As somebody that has had a passenger ride in Merlins car I say that you should show him exactly what it's capable of, round and round and round and round that roundabout again

I hear that Gibbo was begging for you to let him out after only 3 laps, big wuss!

Oh yeah, might be a good idea to provide a sick bag for him.

My suggestion....
Take him out, for the 1st couple of miles drive loke your grandmother, keep it well out of Vtec. Explain to him, that its a little slow today due to the weather ;)

then.. tell him you can sense the pressure drop in the atmosphere...so lets see how she fairs.... then VTEC-YO all the way home :D

It's true, the big fairy. :p

Shame the approach to the island was rubbish cos blasting straight over islands in 3rd foot flat to the floor is just bonkers.

He's happy, I got a couple of :D out of him and one "jesus". Was a nice bloke.

I did scare him - was approaching an S bend pretty quick, I saw his legs stretch out into the footwell as if he was going for imaginary brakes lol :D
