Doing the Three peaks challenge tomorrow!

Nice one. I did it back in 2009, 2 days after completing the Nijmegen marches with the army. It was a world of pain, but very fun! Will be going back and doing it next year. Remember to drink plenty of water, and pack a few big bags of your favorite sweets to keep you going for the last mountain, you will need them!

I found going downhill harder than uphill.

Ben Nevin was a the easiest, but lots of traffic. Loads of people on the path. Not very impressive at the top, too much fog.

If you have knee problems, or you're old and broken, I recommend some walking sticks. It's mainly going downhill, your joints will take a pounding.

And a torchlight when you do the one by night (Skafell that was for me). Can be tricky if the weather / full moon isn't with you, but it's brilliant (less traffic on the path, great view).

Plenty of food, especially water. More than you think you'll need.

For improving fitness, do a lot of walking upstairs :)

Hope the weather will be with you!

Funny you say that. Ben Nevis was our first mountain, it was hard going for the initial ascent as we took too much water with us. The views were better than Scaffel I thought.

My left knee took a right beating by the end of it, can barely take the stairs, limping around the office like a penguin at the moment, much to my colleagues amusement.
