I'm guessing this will be a longshot, but has anyone played this game? I don't even know what it is or how its in my steam library. I did the Steam spring cleaning event and this game popped up as one of the games i have yet to play, so i installed it to get the badge.

But when i loaded it up a warning popped up that said do not play this game if you suffer from anxiety or depression... I suffer from both, but have never seen a warning on a game about this before. I find most games, even horror games help with my anxiety and depression rather than harming it.

This game looks like some cute, colourful anime game from the steam page, so thats why this warning is even more confusing and I have to admit its intrigued me to see what its all about.

I actually love psychological horrors and with the 'overwhelmingly positive' steam reviews i'm tempted to give it an hour or two to see what its about :o.

This thread and seeing a few Steam reviews has piqued my interest. Looks odd if not deplorably sad but.. sounds intriguing Installing now...

It's a really great game, although as a VN you're going to have to endure the format and stick with it for the payoff. The whole thing takes about 3 hours or so, so you can easily do it in a couple of sittings. Don't read anything else about it though or you'll spoil the story...I honestly think the warnings are a little melodramatic, and that you don't have much to worry about, but if you do play it you'll possibly get an idea whether or not you're going to be too bothered by the themes. Much like Pony Island it's an experience worth having, or at least trying.

OK, finished now.

This game is (from the little I know of them) a typical Japanese style visual novel, in that it's kind of silly and cutesy and, frankly, boring... I persevered for the supposed pay-off.

You have a female best-friend and are introduced to three more female characters and are prompted to try to impress one for dating. Given the choice, I went for one of the taller ones with larger breasts. On we go... click on some words that you think match your intended's character and poetry writing style and you start making in-roads. Still bored.

Along the way and after some indications that I picked up on due to the supposed dark themes your best-friend confesses to suffering from depression. You try to be supportive but goddammit I might get to touch boob if I keep at my fancy-girl. So I persevere. Best-friend girl is a poor complex girl who, despite my sincere promises to remain her best-friend decides to hang herself due to feeling all alone in the world. It was telegraphed to be honest, by the warnings and the things she said but it was nonetheless slightly disturbing simply due to the juxtaposition between cutesy-wutesy fwuffy bunnies and cupcakes type stuff followed immediately by dead teenage girl.

Oh, and I think my potential girlfriend is self-harming.

If suicide is or has been an issue in your life then perhaps this is not the game for you but otherwise, it's a quite frankly boring game. No, visual novels are not really my thing. I've played that one where you try to seduce birds of the feathery kind and the most-part of a cyberpunk bartender one but I think this will be my last. Just clicking and reading for a couple of hours. I can do that at work.

I do not mean to sound insensitive. I have had rough times myself but I'm not sure that this is really that bad - I think the warnings simply serve to warn that it's not going to stay cutesy all the way through so, if you're sensitive, either don't play or brace yourself

It's a Visual Novel with a twist and it's done very well, you can even mess with the game files to change things how they work in the game.

I started "new game+" but aside from the initial glitches it seemed much the same gameplay wise and, already bored with the visual novel style, I packed it in. I take it then that I haven't experienced the game to its fullest?

Thanks
