Dolby atmos upgrade for PC

Hi, not sure if this is the right forum section to post this but.. I've ordered an LG CX48 which I'm going to use as a PC monitor when my 3080 eventually turns up, mainly for playing games and watching films.

I'm pretty useless when it comes to audio setups so was wondering if someone can help me with a few questions.

At the moment i'm just using a standard logitech 5.1 set of speakers but was thinking of upgrading it to a Dolby atmos soundbar. Something like the JBL 9.1 https://www.avforums.com/reviews/jbl-bar-9-1-soundbar-review.17696

From my understanding I would connect HDMI from GPU to the TV and then use EARC back to the soundbar, just wondering if that sounded correct.

Also wondering how it works when not playing or watching Dolby atmos content.... Does the soundbar and rear speakers just work like regular 5.1 speakers, just not using the upward firing speakers?

Help would be appreciated or any better suggestions for a setup... was thinking a soundbar just for ease or connecting it up.

Also I've been reading about how some people get high audio latency or their audio lagging behind the picture when connecting from TV to a soundbar or receiver when you sing eARC. Is this a common problem ?

Just got my LG CX48 yesterday. using it as a monitor. Just double checking... I have my PC connected to the TV, then the eARC to my Q90r soundbar. Dolby atmos is set up on PC. "Sound out" is set to HDMI ARC. I have eARC selected and "Digital sound out" set to Pass through. But in "HDMI Input Audio Format" do i select PCM or Bitstream for the HDMI slot my pc is connected to?
