Academy Award nominee Eddie Murphy portrays real-life legend Rudy Ray Moore, a comedy and rap pioneer who proved naysayers wrong when his hilarious, obscene, kung-fu fighting alter ego, Dolemite, became a 1970s Blaxploitation phenomenon.

When I saw the name without the trailer I was expecting this to be a follow up to Black Dynamite.

looks good and good to see eddie back on the screen, netflix are really dominating the scene atm

Looking forward to this.

I hope and pray that Eddie one day can do a third stand up that sits equal with Raw and Delirious.

Watched last night and I went in expecting something similar to Black Lightening but the bulk of the film isn't, not knowing about Dolemite I was surprised when the end credits started showing the original film and actors and gave some history to them after seeing that the film they filmed in this kept very close to the original.

I presume you meant Black Dynamite, which was a spoof of blaxploitation movies from the 70's such as the Dolemite movies. This is more of a straight-up biopic of Dolemite himself which inspired Black Dynamite
