Domain and sub-domains

say I buy a domain name from 123-reg, no-ip etc, and then create sub domains, for different sites.

Is it possible to setup DC's on each site to use the sub domains, and then be able to cross talk with the correct DNS setup?

I'm just having a 'I've been awake for too long' moment

What?

Internal DNS doesn't have much to do with what you do with 123-reg, so ignore that for now.

Are you asking if you can have domain.com and sub.domain.com as two domains in separate forests? If so, yes, I have no idea what then breaks if you try and set up trust between them.

In AD terms, a sub-domain/ child domain will already have an automatic two-way transitive trust established with any other domain in the same forest - there's no need to create any sort of trust in that scenario.

So long as you own the top level domain you can do what you want with the domain an indeed the sub domains.
